Steve comes from a traditional finance background, notably working at hedge funds, commercial banks, and fintech startups in major financial hubs across East Asia. His analysis articles on China’s emerging tech industry and CBDC initiative have been cited by US Congressional reports, and he has been quoted in publications such as Bloomberg, MarketWatch, Investing.com, the Diplomat, and more.
Steve first entered the blockchain industry in 2017 as Director of Strategy at a cryptocurrency investment bank. In 2020, he co-founded The China Guys, a boutique consulting firm that specializes in Chinese market research and business advisory services. In 2021, he founded GG.M, a global expansion strategy firm that provides compliance and growth marketing advisory solutions to companies with international ambitions.
He is currently on the core team for Kyoko.Finance, a DAO-to-DAO credit provider and cross-chain GameFi NFT lending market for guilds and players as well as Soulda16, the first social club to use NFTs bound to their holders’ personality types as entrance passes.
Steve holds a B.S. in finance and international business from Indiana University and certification in Chinese language and culture from the US Chinese Flagship Program.
